Today, I am conquering one of my biggest fears…I am writing this blog. And those of you (okay, ALL of you) who look forward to Jeremy’s witty, funny, incredibly intelligent, and certainly motivating words of wisdom, bear with me. I probably won’t make you laugh, but I will be speaking from my heart. My only hope is that you are inspired to continue on this path that you have chosen with Jeremy and I along your side.
What started as a desire to bring something that we are truly passionate about to others, has turned into a journey filled with so much more than we could have ever hoped for. YOU ALL have turned a “business endeavor” into a “life endeavor”. You have made each and every day a gift to us. It is inspiring to see your motivation to realize your mental and physical potentials. We’ve seen you laugh, cry, and throw things in anger. We’ve watched pre-workout nervousness & doubt transform into post-workout pride.
In this journey to improve our lives, there will be setbacks and bumps along the way. I know that nothing worth acheiving would be any other way. It is during these dark moments that Jeremy and I want you to remember that this is NOT just a place to go workout. This is your FAMILY. We will always be here for guidance, a push in the right direction, or a rock when you need one. I know this is quite “mushy” for CrossFit, but there is more to all of this than doing a “kick-ass” workout.
As we start this new year, we want to thank you for giving us the opportunity to spend each day watching you grow in confidence, in strength (both physical and mental), and in ways many of you never thought possible. Thank you for pursuing your goals so passionaltely and allowing us to be a part of it.
Yours in Friendship,
Nicole and Jeremy
Next Monday (Jan 5th) we will start a 2 phase programming cycle that you’re going to love. It comes from one of my mentors in fitness, James Fitzgerald at Optimum Performance Training in Canada. James won the first CF games and is one of the smartest trainers in the field. The programming will be back to the M, G, W flow many of you remember, but this time they will be pointed at specifically increasing your power output. We’re looking forward to this month or so of workouts. REST UP THIS WEEKEND!!!
Also, The 2009 CrossFit Games regional qualifications for the mid-atlantic region will be held April 25th and 26th in Virginia Beach at the CrossFit Training Center. This is awesome for us. We have signed our affiliate up to compete. This means any one of you can compete. But better yet, because it’s local, anyone can show up to cheer on the CrossFit Hampton Roads Team. LOUD and OBNOXIOUS is approved. Click here to read more. We’ll get more specifics on cost as it’s made available.
