Monday’s WOD:

Men load a 95lb bar
Ladies load a 65lb bar

5 rounds of:
1 Squat Clean / 1 Push Press / 1 Squat Clean / 1 Push Jerk / 1 Squat Clean / 1 Split Jerk
Rest 1 min 30 seconds
As Many Reps as Possible (AMRAP) of Double Unders in 40 seconds
Rest 1 min 30 seconds

Rest as little as possible during the lifting complex

Post Load and total double under reps per round.

Over the past 10 days, I was on a rather busy trip.  I worked 9 straight days at about 13-16 hours per day plus a healthy commute each way.  This is the first time in a long time that I haven’t got at least 8 hours of sleep a night.  A few observations:  by day 3 or 4, I started craving foods I would never otherwise crave–refined carbs.  My WODs were lethargic.  Mentally I was way behind.  I lacked motivation, creative thinking and drive.  My digestive cycle was way out of whack, and for the first time in a while, I just didn’t feel well even though I wasn’t “technically” sick.  But I guess I actually was.  To me, sleep deprivation is a malady, a state of dis-ease, and therefore a disease.  The ripple affect of poor sleep derails so much.  The onset is insidious and precipitous.  9 hours, pitch black, absolutely NO light (not even an LED from an alarm clock).  That’s about what I need to function at my best.  Post your sleep story!
